WIENS, Ernst

           "Ernie"

God called Ernie home suddenly on July 16, 2010 at Cache Creek, BC at the age of 61 years.

Ernie was born in Paraguay on January 5, 1949. He grew up in Yarrow, the eldest of twelve children. He was an active member of Yarrow United Mennonite Church. Ernie worked at Vedder Transport for 33 years as milk truck driver. He also volunteered with the Yarrow Fire Department for 27 years. Ernie loved the outdoors and enjoyed many fishing and hunting trips with family and friends.

Ernie will be lovingly remembered by Pat, his wife of 32 years; children, Karen (Ron), Al (Nash), Eric (Kelly) and Laura (Rob); and grandchildren, Tori, Cheyenne, Sierra, Hunter and Tyler.

He will also be sadly missed by his mother, Erna Wiens, five brothers and six sisters and all his brothers and sisters in law and many other family members. Ernie was predeceased by his father, Jakob Wiens.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 11:00 am from the Yarrow United Mennonite Church, 4336 Eckert Road, Yarrow BC; Pastor Barry Lesser officiating.
