WIENS, Anna 1897-1994

Anna Wiens was born July 9, 1897 to Wilhelm and Anna Dueckmann in Tiege, Ukraine. Her faith began in early childhood; she was later baptized.

Anna married Abram Wiens on October 20, 1919. They immigrated to New Hamburg, Ontario in 1925 and moved to a farm in Chortitz, Manitoba in 1926 and to Yarrow, B.C. in 1942.

In 1964, they retired to Abbotsford, B.C. where Abram died in 1965.




Anna & Abram Wiens are membered as tireless workers in the service of others, serving in MCC and its affiliates for 20 years in B.C.

They were supportive of MB Churches in Manitoba and Yarrow and then Central Heights MB Church in Abbotsford, but especially supported activities that promoted interdenominational cooperation.

She endured hardships, emerging smiling; did her duty with determination and patience; and treated others with generosity and compassion.




She was predeceased by her husband Abram in 1965, sons Abram in 1926, Ernest in 1988 and Henry in 1990 and 1 great-grandson.

She is survived by her children Agnes Friesen, Anne Jensen and John Wiens; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Anna Wiens passed away June 23, 1994 in Abbotsford B. C.
