WIENS, Abram John

John J. Wiens and Abram J. Wiens

A double funeral service was held at Yarrow Mennonite Brethren church on December 10, 1943 with Rev. John Harder, Rev. A. Nightingale, and Rev. H. Bartsch, African Missionary officiating of John John Wiens and Abram John Wiens, two brothers whose deaths occurred within a day of each other. Interment will be in the Yarrow Cemetery.

Abram John Wiens, brother to John Wiens, aged 62 of Yarrow, died suddenly on Monday, December 6, 1943 at his home in Yarrow. He is survived by his wife Justina, six daughters and two sons.

Abram was born October 21, 1881 in Hamberg, Molotschna, South Russia to John J. & Agatha (Neufeld) Wiens. He married Justina Wiens on October 13, 1907 at Omsk, Asiatic Russia.

They immigrated to Canada August 31, 1926 and moved to Coaldale, Alberta. They moved to Yarrow in 1940 with the rest of the Wiens family.

They were fruit farmers and farmed on #2 Road on Sumas Prairie near Yarrow BC and were members of the Yarrow MB Church.
