WIEBE, Cornelius


Cornelius Wiebe

1893 - 1972

A former resident of Yarrow and a retired dairy farmer, Cornelius Wiebe, 2789 Princess Street, Clearbrook died February 7, 1972 in MSA General Hospital in Abbotsford.

Cornelius Wiebe was born in Russia. He was 78 years old.

He is survived by his wife Katharina; three sons: Corny, John and Jake, all of Abbotsford; six daughters: Frieda (Henry) Isaak, Yarrow; Margaret of Clearbrook, Carol (A.F.) Clayton, Aldergrove; Sue (K.) Van Lunzen, Vancouver; Olga (J.) Epp, Yarrow; and Alvina (John) Reimer; 18 grandchildren; two stepsons: Eric Isaac, Nanaimo; Peter Isaac, Trail; three step-daughters: Frieda (S.) Rogers; Alice (D.) Hale of Invermere; Nettie (P.) Robson, Montreal, nine step-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held February 11, 1972 in Clearbrook M.B. Church with Rev. H. Lenzmann and Rev. J. Quiring officiated.

Pallbearers were J.R. Wiebe, C. Wiebe, Jake Wiebe, K. Van Lunzen, J. Epp and J. Reimer.

Interment was in Yarrow cemetery.


Susanna Wiebe

1898 -1969

A long-time resident in Yarrow, Mrs. Susanna Wiebe died June 10, 1969 in the MSA General Hospital in Abbotsford.

Mrs. Wiebe who had lived in the district of 13 years was born in South Russia on September 5, 1898. Her home address at the time of her death was 41767 Central Road, Yarrow, B.C.

She is survived by her husband Cornelius; three sons in Abbotsford: Cornelius, John and Jake; and six daughters: Frieda (Henry) Isaak, Yarrow; Miss Margaret Wiebe at home; Cornelia (Fred) Clayton, Bradner, B.C.; Susie (Ken) Van Lunzen, Vancouver, B.C.; Olga (Jake) Epp, Yarrow, B.C.; and Alvena (John) Reimer, Yarrow, B.C.; 18 grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Lize Harms, Manitoba.

Funeral service was held June 13, 1969 in the Mennonite Brethren Church.

Rev. H.G. Thielman and Rev. John Bell officiated.

Pallbearers were Cornelius Wiebe, Henry Isaak, John Wiebe, Fred Clayton, Jake Wiebe, and Ken Van Lunzen.

Burial followed in the Yarrow Cemetery.
