TOEWS, Anna

Anna Toews, a resident of Yarrow from 1943 to 1975, died February 5, 1977 at the Menno Hospital in Abbotsford. She was 97.

Mrs. Toews was born in Russia November 2, 1879. She was a member of First Mennonite Church in Yarrow and lived at the Menno Home in Abbotsford the last 1½ years.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Anna (Henry) Sukkau of Sexsmith, Alberta and Mrs. Justina (Dave) Epp of Yarrow: three sons, Cornelius of Linden, Alberta, Peter of Kelowna and Frank of Summerland; 30 grandchildren, 90 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Cornelius in June, 1967.

Funeral was held Wednesday February 9 at 2 p.m. at First Mennonite Church in Yarrow with Rev. Henry Claassen officiating. Interment was at Yarrow Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Fred Toews, Kenneth Epp, Victor Epp, Donald Toews, George Sukkau and Frank Penner.

Hendersons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
