Susan Sawatsky

1929 - 2005

Susan Sawatsky died peacefully on July 4, 2005. She was born December 31, 1929 in Southern Siberia to Isaak & Katherine Braun.

In 1929, Susan’s father obtained the necessary documents for the family to flee Russia. They went to Yarrow B.C. joining other immigrant families, then settling on their own in Sardis, B.C.

In 1939, following an altar call by Rev. J.B. Toews, Susan accepted the Lord as her Saviour. One of Susan’s favorite Bible verses was Proverbs 3: 5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight." And that is how she lived her life.

She is mourned by Norm, her husband of 59 years; daughters Carol (Gus) Schmidt; and Janet (Ernest) Frers; son Wayne (Anita); 7 grandchildren and 1 sister.
