Nick Reimer died October 7, 2004 at Abbotsford, BC. He was born July 17, 1926 at Davidson, Saskatchewan to Nicolai and Sara (Peters) Reimer. The family moved to Yarrow, BC in 1928. His father started Reimer's Nurseries and Nick left school at age 15 to help him. He attended Elim Bible School in Yarrow during the winters when it wasn't busy in the nursery.

Nick was baptized 1947 and joined the Yarrow MB Church where he loved music, singing in choirs and attending concerts. He married Erna Bartsch on May 20, 1951. Five children were born to them 3 daughters: Madelyn, Sylvia and Lydia; and 2 sons, Paul and Albert while they lived in Yarrow. Later they moved to Vedder Road near the Sardis Elementary School.

Nick & Erna moved to six acres at Mt. Lehman BC in 1980 and joined the Bakerview MB Church in Abbotsford. The house here was only half finished. Nick completed the house himself and lived in it until his death. When Nick originally acquired the property, Nick and his son Paul planted all six acres around the house with over 180 different varieties of magnolias, rhododendrons and other flowering trees. These trees have served as the basic propagating stock for their wholesale nurseries in Chilliwack and Lynden, Washington, USA.

Nick passed away October 7, 2004 at Abbotsford, he was predeceased by his parents and daughter Sylvia; he is mourned by Erna; daughters: Madelyn Friesen, Lydia Altenmueller; and sons Paul and Albert; four sisters: Margaret, Frieda, Mary and Hilda.

His funeral was October 13, 2004 in Bakerview MB Church with David Ewert, Michael Dick and his brother-in-law Hans Kasdorf ministering.
