Maria Penner

1897 - 1980

Mrs. Maria Penner, 83 of 32945 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, died December 20th 1980 in the Menno Hospital. She was born in 1897 in Nev-Rosengart, Russia and came to Canada in 1956 and resided in Winnipeg and Yarrow before moving to Abbotsford.

She is survived by sons Cornelius and Gerhard of Russia, and Frank of Winnipeg; daughters Maria Thiessen and Helen Loewen, both of Winnipeg; three step-sons and two step-daughters; brother Nikolas Kroeker of Winnipeg; sisters Tina Kroeker of Germany. She was predeceased by her first husband Cornelius Buhler in 1951 and her second husband Bernard Penner in July of 1980.

Funeral service was Dec. 23, 1980 in the Menno Chapel with Rev. H. Claassen, Rev. H. Epp and Rev. Peter Unger officiating.

Pallbearers were Franz Buhler, Henry Unruh, Heinrich Janzen, Cornelius Buhler, Waldemar Klassen and John Peters.

Interment followed at Yarrow Cemetery.
