Peter Nightingale
1911 – 1991
Peter Nightingale of Winfield, B.C. passed away October 8, 1991. He was born June 10, 1911 to Rev. Abram & Maria Nachtigal in Alexanderkrone, Russia.
In 1924, the family immigrated to Ontario, later moving to Manitoba and in, 1936 to Yarrow, B.C.
He married Agnes Toews in 1938 in Yarrow, B.C. He worked in the hopyards and for many years he operated his own fruit farm.
In his mid-40’s he experienced a life-changing conversion.
Illness forced him into early retirement, but he remained instrumental in the work of the Inland Tract Distributers for many years. He also continued to work
on his large and unique collection of potted plants.
They moved in Winfield in 1977. He is remembered as a kind and faithful friend and as a man of integrity, sustained by humble faith and ceaseless prayer.
He was predeceased by his wife in 1985. He is mourned by his children Elfrieda Krumbhols and Dave of Winfield; Florence Ross of Port Coquitlam, B.C. and Larry of
Vancouver; 9 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter; 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
The funeral was October 10, 1991 in Winfield Missionary Church with Gary Dahl,
Gene Whitehead, Wayne Shirton and Dave Martens ministering.
Agnes Nightingale
1918 - 1985
Agnes Nightingale of Winfield BC. passed away January 4, 1985.
She was born December 14, 1918 to Johann and Aganetha Toews in Gnadenheim, near Slavgorod, Siberia.
The Toews family immigrated to Drake, Saskatchewan in 1926 moving to Yarrow B.C. 10 years later in 1936.
She loved the Lord from an early age and was a member of Yarrow MB Church.
Agnes married Peter Nightingale in 1938, remaining in Yarrow until they moved to Winfield seven years ago.
Agnes is remembered for her courage, quiet strength, optimism and constant support.
She is survived by her husband Peter, four children Elfrieda Krumbhols of Oyama, B.C., Dave of Winfield,
Florence Ross of Winnipeg and Larry of Vancouver, nine grandchildren, two brothers and a sister.
Funeral was in Winfield Missionary Church with David Nightingale and Wayne Shirton ministering.
