Mrs. Mary J. Neufeld

Funeral services were held Monday November 25, 1968 for Mrs. Mary J. Neufeld who passed away suddenly at the MSA Hospital on November 19th 1968.

Mary Martens Neufeld was born August 1, 1910 to Gerhard & Maria (Schmidt) Martens in Russia. She married John Neufeld on July 15, 1934. They had three children: Edward, Martha (Mardy) and Leonard.

She had been in Canada for 45 years and had lived in the Yarrow district for 24 years after living in Drake, Saskatchewan for several years. She was late of 4531 Cherry Road, Yarrow. They were members of Yarrow Alliance Church.

Mary is survived by her husband John J. Neufeld, two sons: Dr. Edward (Margaret) Neufeld in the Congo, Africa; and Leonard, Three Hills, Alberta; daughter Martha (Mardy) Thiessen, Calgary, Alberta; five grandchildren; three brothers: George Martens of Drake, Saskatchewan; Peter Martens of Yarrow and Bill Martens of North Surrey; three sisters: Mrs. H. (Sarah) Fast of Langley, B.C.; Mrs. B. (Agnes) Abraham, Manitoba; and Mrs. H. (Susie) Franz of Aldergrove, B.C.

Funeral Service for Mary Neufeld was held from Yarrow Alliance Church with Rev. John H. Bell officiating. Pallbearers were Menno Neufeld, John Friesen, Henry Voth, Alfred Adam, Rudy Goertz and William Neuman. Interment was at Yarrow Cemetery.
