John G. Neufeld
1884 - 1963

John Gerhard Neufeld died at his residence 41751 Central Road, Yarrow on March 21st 1963. The funeral service was conducted in the Yarrow Mennonite Brethren Church by Rev. Aron Rempel, Rev. Henry Bartsch of Yarrow and Rev. H. Classen of Vancouver.

Pallbearers were D. Goertz, J. Friesen, H. Both, C. Enns, H. Neufeld and John Enns.

Mr. Neufeld was born in South Russia in 1884 and had lived in the district for 20 years. He was a retired painter.

He is survived by his wife Katharine (Tina); three sons: John, Yarrow; George, Steveston, Henry, Vancouver, seven daughters: Mrs. Henry Siemens, Drake, Sask., Mrs. Menno Buller, Terrace, B.C.; Miss May Neufeld; Miss Sue Neufeld and Miss Hilda Neufeld all of Vancouver; Miss Helen Neufeld, Arizona; Miss Anne Neufeld, Port Edward, B.C.; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a brother, Abe Neufeld in Clearbrook, B.C.

Interment was in Yarrow Cemetery.




Katharina Neufeld
1900 - 1977

Katharina (Tina) Neufeld, formerly of Chilliwack, died July 18th 1977 at the MSA Hospital in Abbotsford, B.C.

Mrs. Neufeld was born in Russia on February 14, 1900. She was a housewife and lived in Yarrow before moving to the Tabor Home in Abbotsford in 1976, two years ago.

Katharina Neufeld is survived by four stepsons: John Esau and John Neufeld of Abbotsford; George Neufeld of Richmond and Henry Neufeld of Vancouver; six stepdaughters: Mrs. Tena Rempel, Mrs. Annie Brochnal, Mrs. Katie Buller of Terrace, Anne Neufeld of Port Edward, Sue Neufeld of Vancouver and Mrs. Hilda Stewart of Vancouver; grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; two sisters Mrs. Nettie Giesbrecht and Mrs. Justina Peters of Yarrow; three brothers: Henry Derksen of California; Jacob Derksen of Manitoba and Martin Derksen of Ontario.

Her funeral was held in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Rev. John Friesen, assisted by Rev. Herman Lenzmann officiated.

Pallbearers were Peter Giesbrecht, Henry Neufeld, Walter Friesen, Henry Derksen, Frank Peters and John Neufeld.

Burial was at Yarrow Cemetery.
