MUXLOW, Alexander Richard and Kathleen Marie


Alexander Richard “Rich” Muxlow

1918 - 2006

Richard “Rich” Muxlow late of Chilliwack, B.C. passed away peacefully on January 15, 2006 at the age of 87. He was born December 24, 1918 in Sedley, Saskatchewan and lived at Gladmar, Saskatchewan for 40 years before moving to Yarrow in 1958 and then to Sardis, in the Chilliwack area where he was a pioneer in the dairy industry.

During his retirement years he enjoyed spending the winters in California and Arizona.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; children: Stuart (Linda); Kathleen (Harry) Lang; daughter-in-law, Maggie Muxlow; Neil; Glenn; Hal (Wendy); Harvey (Susie) all of the Chilliwack area. Also survived by grandchildren: Robin (Chris), Dennis, Kara (Owen), Nadia, Melanie (Elmar), Jody, Kevin (Serena), Colin (Tamara), Tessa, Sarah, Jessica, Kaylee, Sheila, Calvin, Julianne; great-grandchildren: Gibson, Cicely, Ethan, Anaka, Kalan, Amelia, Grace, Fraser, Spencer; and a brother, Al (Jean) Muxlow of Abbotsford.

He was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen “Kay”; brothers, Gerald, Robert, Lenard; grandson, Timothy and son, Ivan.

A Memorial Service was held at the Atchelitz Hall on Friday, January 20, 2006 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Program at 3:00 p.m. Cremation, Henderson’s Funeral Home and Crematorium

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of B.C. and Yukon or the Chilliwack Hospice.






Kathleen “Kay” Marie Muxlow

1924 – 1997

Kathleen “Kay” Marie Muxlow passed away suddenly on Thursday October 9, 1997. She was born November 29th 1924 in Bengough, Saskatchewan. She married Richard Muxlow and lived in Gladmar, Saskatchewan until 1958 when they moved to Yarrow, B.C.

Kay was active in square dancing, and old-time dancing. Music was a love that she shared with her family and friends. Not only was a fan of her children and grandchildren’s sports activities, but also participated in softball (she was still on a team at 70 years) curling, shuffleboard and golfing.

She was a descendent of the United Empire Loyalists, she was proud of her heritage, shown through scrapbooks and family photo albums. She will always be remembered for being a team player.

She is survived by her husband Rich of 53 years; children Stuart (Linda) of Chilliwack, Kathleen (Harry) Lang of Surrey; Ivan (Marg); Neil (Jo-Ann), Glenn (Margaret); Hal (Wendy), and Harvey (Susie) all of Chilliwack; grandchildren: Robin, Dennis, Kevin, Melanie, Kara, Nadia, Jody, Colin, Sheila, Calvin, Julianne, Tessa and triplets Sarah, Kaylee and Jessica; brothers Arnold (Angeline) Shaver, Frankie (Rita) Shaver, Wilfred (Marilyn) Shaver; sister Wilma (George) LaRose; and many nieces and nephews.

Kay was predeceased by grandson Timothy; brother Dayne and sister Betty. “She will be greatly missed by all she touched”

A funeral service was held on Wednesday October 15th 1997 at the Chilliwack United Church, Rev. Bob Wallace officiated.

Visitation was held at Henderson’s Funeral Home.
