ANN HOOGE MATTHEWS
1927 – 2012

Anne Cornelia Matthews nee Heppner was born in East Reserve, Grunthal, Manitoba to Cornelius & Maria Heppner on December 31, 1927.

In 1930, Ann's family moved to Yarrow, BC, and then to Greendale, where she was baptized at the Greendale MB Church. Here she met Harry Hooge and they were married in the Greendale MB Church on June 22, 1947.

Ann & Harry raised their five children in Maple Ridge, BC and attended the Maple Ridge Baptist Church. Their eldest daughter, Gloria, passed away in 1971.

Anne was passionate about music, singing and leading choirs with joy.

Three years after Harry’s death, Ann married Ron Matthews on November 18th 1989. They enjoyed 12 years of happiness in Salmon Arm and Mission, B.C. Ann’s welcoming smile and loving kindness made hers a walk to remember and follow. Ron passed away in 2001.

Anne passed away June 22, 2012 at age 84 at the Menno Home in Abbotsford. She is mourned by children Allan (Jean), David (Sharon), Grace Howard (John), Carol Warner (Peter), 11 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; stepsons Barry, Allan; 4 siblings.

Burial was at Maple Ridge, B.C.
