
Franz Peter Martens
Frank Peter Martens was born to Peter & Susanna Martens in 1876 in Rueckenau, Molotschna, Russia. He had one brother Peter P. Martens.
In 1903 he married Helena Sukkau. She predeceased him in 1955.
Frank moved in the Menno Home in Abbotsford in 1968.

Frank Martens passed away on February 22, 1973 in his 96th year. He was survived by his daughter Mrs. August Wiebe, 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held in the Yarrow M.B. Church with Rev. P.D. Loewen and Rev. J.F. Klassen officiating.
Burial was at Yarrow Cemetery.
Helena Sukkau Martens
1879 - 1955
Helena Sukkau Martens was born May 7, 1879 in South Russia to Heinrich Johann & Elizabeth Sukkau. She was baptized in 1906. She had 5 siblings, Heinrich H. Sukkau and Gerhard H. Sukkau and 3 other siblings.
She married Frank P. Martens in 1903 in South Russia. They came to Canada and lived at 917 Central Road, Yarrow B.C. They had one daughter. They had lived in the Yarrow area for 17 years; her last address was 917 Central Road Yarrow.

Mrs. Martens passed away at the Chilliwack General Hospital in 1955, she was 76. She is survived by her husband Johann Martens 917 Central Road Yarrow, one daughter Mrs. August Wiebe, Coaldale, Alberta and five grandchildren.
Funeral service for Helena Martens was held at the Yarrow Mennonite Brethren Church with Rev. C.D. Toews assisted by Rev. J. Thiessen, Vancouver officiating.
Pallbearers were H. Sukkau, J. Baerg, F. Martens, G. Martens, P. Martens and J. Martens.
Interment was at Yarrow Cemetery.
