MARTENS, John

Adina (Wiens) Martens passed away peacefully in her 79th year, February 4, 2004 after a brief illness.

Adina was born May 5, 1925 in Issykul Omskaya Oblast, Russia to Abram and Justina Wiens.

The family immigrated to Yarrow, B.C. She married Aron Martens Aug. 13, 1944. She was a member of Central Heights Church, Abbotsford. She sang in the choir and supported Aron in his choir endeavours, practices and concerts. She enjoyed her grandchildren, needlework and baking. She was a woman of faith, a prayer warrior, devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She was surrounded by her family as she left us to be with the Lord and to join her son Larry and her grandson Jamie.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband Aron of 60 years, her children Angie (Jim) Barnes, Viola (David Krueger), Dot (Allen) Hiebert, John (Judy) Martens and Len (Trudi) Martens. She has left 18 wonderful grandchildren and 6 great-grandsons. Her family was always important to her and she will always be remembered for her kind nature, loving heart and sweet smile.

The memorial service and celebration of her life will be at Central Heights Church at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2004.
