KRAUSE, Jessie and Karl


Jessie Krause

1925 - 1968

Funeral service was held at the Yarrow Mennonite Brethren Church for Mrs. Jessie Krause who died September 11, 1968 in Vancouver General Hospital. Interment was in Yarrow cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bert Krause, Ed Krause, Corney Peters, Jim Cumisky, Corney Giesbrecht and Alfred Hamm.




Mrs. Krause was born in Saskatchewan on October 1, 1925 and had lived in the district for 20 years.

She is survived by her husband Carl, 4035 Eckert Road, Yarrow, two daughters, Marlene (John) Neels, Chilliwack; and Katherine at home, one grandchild; four sisters: Mrs. Albert Neufeld, Saskatchewan; Mrs. Jim Cumisky and Mrs. Jim Reid, Vancouver; Mrs. Corney Peters, Abbotsford; a brother Peter in Saskatchewan and parents Mr. & Mrs. Henry F. Dyck, Yarrow. Garden Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.




Karl Krause

1919 – 1996

Carl August Krause has gone to be with his Lord, May 28, 1996 age 76. He was born December 9, 1919 in Gnadenfeld Russia and came to Canada with his parents.

Carl loved photography and travelling, of which a safari in Africa and a trip to Israel were highlights.

He is survived by his wife Anna; two daughters Marlene (Jack deFouw of Chilliwack and Katherine (Roger) Peterson of Sardis; grandchildren Terri (Rick) Landreville of Rosedale and Andrea (Ed) VanDrimmelen of Sardis; Jason Neels, Tiffany and Oliver Peever, all of Sardis; great-grandchildren. Ricky, Allison, Cassidy and Jordan; sisters Mary (Alfred) Hamm; Melita Peters; Naomi (Cornelius) Giesbrecht; Betty (Bill) Voth; Joan (Don) Braun; brothers Ed (Mary) Krause; and Bert (Elsie) Krause and many nieces and nephews.

Carl was predeceased by his first wife Jessie; and twin brother in infancy, Eric; and his parents Jacob & Maria (Rempel) Krause.

Casket bearers were Bert Krause. Ed Krause, Roger Peterson, Jack deFouw, Jason Neels and Oliver Peever.

Funeral service was held at the Broadway M.B. Church on June 3, 2996, Rev. Robert Friesen and Rev. Henry Warkentin officiated. Interment in Yarrow Cemetery.

Their sincere appreciation to Dr. Rogers, the home care nurses and the home care support staff for all their help. To the nurses on NU4 and Palliative Care Ward, a special thank you for being so caring and supportive during Carl’s hospital stay.
