February 1, 1928 – April 30, 2011

Anne Koop-Dorey passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord, April 30, 2011 at the Menno Hospital in Abbotsford. She was born to Nickolai and Liese Boschman February 1, 1928 in Whitewater, Manitoba.

When Anne was 4 she moved with her parents to BC. Through the course of her life, she loved her flower garden, and to sing, read, crochet, and go for walks and enjoy nature. She had a very strong faith and was actively involved in her church.

She enjoyed 14 years of wintering in Mesa, Arizona. She was actively involved in activities which included choir and ministry. During the years of 1983-1991 she co-owned an esthetics business where she was a friend of many in the course of her business activities and often was thanked for her ‘compassionate’ heart. Anne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She was predeceased by her husband Henry B Koop in 1992. Anne is survived by her husband Arnold Dorey; daughter Loraine and husband Ron Voth; son Larry and wife Julie; son Wes and wife Brenda; son Ron and wife Sheri. By marriage, Arthur and Leslie and Craig and Sandra, 16 grandchildren; Jason, Jana, Eldon, Robyn, Wayne, Warren, Dale, Amee, Sean, and by marriage Britney, Michele, Sheldon, Jackson, Jennifer, Carmen, and Leanne. 15 great grandchildren; Berkeley, Dylan, Maguire, Stella, Hayden, Griffin, Eleanor, Jordan, Jacob, Marcus, Carter, Ryder, and by marriage, Jesiah, Brycen and Milanne. One brother, Rudy Boschman and wife Anne.

Mom was dearly loved by her family and will be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor. The family is especially grateful for the myriad of prayers that she prayed for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorial service took place on Friday, May 6, 2011at the Immanuel Fellowship Baptist Church at 2950 Blue Jay Street with Pastor Jim Penner officiating.

The family is deeply grateful to the nurses and staff of the Menno Hospital for their care of mom during these last months. Mom, during her last days, would often say “all’s good”. In spite of all the adversity she bravely faced each day with grace and dignity. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Anne to “Canadian Food for the Hungry”. Arrangements under the direction of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Abbotsford, BC.
