Elizabeth “Luise” Janzen
1897 - 1974
Luise Janzen, nee Quiring, daughter of Abram & Elizabeth (Koop) Quiring was born on February 24, 1897 in Rosenort, Sagradowka, Russia where she spent her childhood and youth. Her mother died in 1925 and her father died in 1933.
Luise married Franz Jakob Janzen in November 1922 and adopted his three children: Frank, Henry and Anna. They lived in Neu-Halbstadt, Sagradowka until 1943. During World War II they were evacuated by the retreating German army and settled in Wartheland, Poland. In 1944, her husband Franz and both sons, Frank and Henry were called to serve in the German army. Luise and her daughter Anna came to Wolthem, Fallingbostel with the retreating German army where she was later reunited with her husband and sons.
In 1949, they immigrated to Winnipeg and after three years there, they moved to a small farm in Yarrow, B.C. and later moved to Abbotsford.
Om 1969 Luise moved to the Menno Home for two months and later settled with her daughter in Clearbrook, B.C.
When Luise was asked whether she was ready to die, she replied “Yes, Jonah, the prophet says: ‘Salvation is of the Lord’.” She passed away December 7th 1974. She is survived by her sons, Frank & Katie Janzen, Henry & Martha Janzen and her daughter, Annie Janzen, all of Clearbrook.
Her funeral, December 11, 1974, was conducted by Rev. H. Lenzmann and Rev. Peter Unger in the Clearbrook M.B. Church.

Franz Jacob Janzen 1893 - 1971
Franz Jacob Janzen was born in Neu Halbstadt Sagradovka, South Russia on October 10, 1893 to Jacob Aron Janzen and Helena Bahnman Janzen.
He married Elizabeth LUISE Quiring and had two children.
He passed away on October 14, 1971 in Abbotsford, B.C.
