HEINRICHS, Elizabeth


Elizabeth Falk Heinrichs passed away August 22, 1995. She was born in December 30, 1906 to Ben & Margaret (Wieler) Falk in Steinfeld, South Russia. She accepted the Lord at 15 was baptized and joined the MB Church. She loved music, learned to play the guitar and sang in a choir which ministered to shut-ins.

The family immigrated to Canada in 1925.

Elizabeth married David Heinrichs in 1930 in Hepburn, Sask. In 1931, they moved to Yarrow, BC and began dairy farming. She loved the farm and worked with her husband, driving the tractor and milking cows. She enjoyed gardening, often having the first ripe vegetables in the community. She was a talented cook and is remembered for the many meals enjoyed at her house.

She was an active member of Yarrow MB Church, serving in the kitchen, singing in the choir, playing guitar for a ladies group and leading a women's mission circle. She often cooked and crocheted for MCC. She is remembered as a caring friend and mother.

Despite osteoporosis, God answered her prayer that she never would have to move to a nursing home.

She was predeceased by her husband David in 1992; she is mourned by sons Peter and George; daughters Kay Dyck, Viola and Betty; 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The funeral was August 26th at Clearbrook MB Church with Jay Neufeld and David Epp ministering.
