Heinrich H. Goossen
1880 - 1968
Heinrich Heinrich Goossen, a resident of this district for 18 years and a former farmer and minister, died June 25, 1968 in Chilliwack General Hospital.
Mr. Goossen late of 41640 Central Road, Yarrow was born June 15, 1880 in Alexandertal, South Russia. He was a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth; daughters Miss Martha Goossen, and Mrs. C. (Mary) Fast, Manitou, Manitoba; three sons: Henry H. Goossen, Chilliwack, Rev. John H. Goossen, Winkler, Manitoba; and Jacob H. Goossen, Manitou, Manitoba; 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. His first wife Katherine died in 1950 and his adopted son, Bernard Bergen died in 1940.
Rev. Henry H. Thielmann and Rev. David A. Friesen officiated at the funeral held in the Mennonite Brethren Church.
Pallbearers were Rev. P.D. Loewen, Rev. Aron Rempel, Rev. Peter Riesen, Rev. John Peters, Rev. David Klassen and Rev. Norman Fehr.
Burial was in the Yarrow Cemetery.
