Elizabeth Goossen

1894 – 1981

Elizabeth Goossen (nee Martens), age 87 of 329-45 Marshall Road, Abbotsford and former of Yarrow, died October 4th 1981 at MSA General Hospital, Abbotsford.

Mrs. Goossen came to Canada in 1930 and settled in Toronto, then moved to Yarrow in 1951 and Abbotsford in 1979.

She is survived by two daughters, Martha Goossen of Yarrow and Mary (Cornelius) Fast of Morden, Manitoba; two sons, John Goossen of Winkler, Manitoba and Jake Goossen and Jake Goossen of Manitou, Manitoba, 16 grand-children and 16 great grand-children.

Elizabeth Goossen was predeceased by her husband Rev. Henry H. Goossen of Yarrow, one son Henry of Chilliwack, two grandchildren, her parents and brothers and sisters.

Funeral service for Mrs. Goossen was held October 9th 1981 at the Yarrow Mennonite Brethren Church with Pastor Abe Klassen and Rev. Peter Unger officiating.

Pallbearers were Willie Dyck, Hardy Martens, Kenneth Goossen, Jake Derksen, Henry Goertzen and Jonathon Goossen.

Burial followed at the Yarrow Cemetery.
