GOLDSWORTHY, Frank Raymond


Frank Raymond Goldsworthy

1912 – 1982

Frank Raymond Goldsworthy of 41869 Majuba Hill, Yarrow, B.C. died November 21, 1982 at his residence.

Frank was born on March 16th 1912 in North Vancouver where he lived for many years. He was an alderman and mayor of North Vancouver for several years.

He also was the Manager of Electrical Engineering Services for H.A. Simons Ltd., and senior engineer and special consultant with H.A. Simons (International) before he retired in 1968 and moved to the Chilliwack area where he lived for 22 years. Electrical superintendent at Burrard Drydock before and during the war years, he was the author of numerous books and pamphlets on electrical and electronic subjects for British naval personnel.

He was past chairman of the North Vancouver General Hospital, building committee of Lion’s Gate Hospital. He was a past president of the Union of B.C. Municipalities, Burrard Inlet Tunnel and Bridge Co., North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce and past National Executive vice-president to the North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce.

He was past honorary secretary of the Canadian Federation of Mayors and Municipalities, a member of the Advising Board, Canadian Federation of Mayors, honorary life member of the North Vancouver Kiwanis Club. He was also a Freeman of the City of North Vancouver.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; two daughters, Lois (Mrs. Bill) Endicott of Richmond and Barbara (Mrs. Brian) Scott of Yarrow; one son and daughter-in-law Ray & Jane Goldsworthy of Victoria; six granddaughters and on grandson; and three sisters: Mrs. J. Begley of North Vancouver, Laura Bayliss of Vancouver and Ruth Mathers of London, Ontario.

Family Funeral Service was held November 24th at Henderson’s Funeral Home. Rev. J.T. Horricks officiated. A memorial service was held November 25th 1982 at Sr. Andrews United Church, North Vancouver with Rev. Frank Patterson officiating.

Cremation was at Victory Memorial Park Crematorium in Surrey.

Margaret Jeanette Goldsworthy

1912 – 1989

Margaret Jeanette Goldsworthy, late of 41860 Majuba Hill Road, Yarrow Passed away January 3rd 1989 at Chilliwack General Hospital at age 76. She was born in Vancouver on April 30th, 1912.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Raymond & Mary Jane of Victoria; daughters and sons-in-law: Lois & Bill Endicott of Richmond, B.C. Barbara & Brian Scott of Yarrow; grandchildren and their spouses: Margo & David Peerless, Ann-Marie & Allan Goly, Jaina & Paul Eviston, Rachel & David Gomez, Heather & Neil Chan, Phaedra Scott, Benjamin Scott and four great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1982.

Funeral service was held January 8th 1989 from the Chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home with Re. J.T. Horricks officiating.

Cremation was at Victory Memorial Park Crematorium in Surrey.

Henderson’s Funeral Home, Chilliwack, in care of arrangements.
