
Lisa Giesbrecht
1898 – 1982
Lisa Giesbrecht, age 83 of 31944 Sunrise Crescent, Clearbrook and formerly of Yarrow, B.C. died March 12, 1982 at MSA General Hospital.
Mrs. Giesbrecht came to Canada in 1924 and settled in Saskatchewan. She married Gerhard Giesbrecht in 1925. They moved to Abbotsford in 1934 and to Yarrow the same year. They returned to Clearbrook in 1980 when she retired.
Lisa is survived by her husband George; three sons: Tom of Langley, Bert of Toronto and Wally of Yarrow; four daughters: Ruth Tilsner of Squamish; Martha Fink of Yarrow; Selma Meeres of Duncan and Leona Fraser of 100 Mile House; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two sisters Mary Koehn of Clearbrook and Annie Martens of Vancouver
Funeral service was held at the Yarrow Mennonite Brethren Church. Pastor Abe Klassen and Pastor Abe Esau officiated.
Burial was at Yarrow Cemetery.

Gerhard Giesbrecht
1898 – 1992
Gerhard Giesbrecht Gerhard Giesbrecht of Tabor Home, Clearbrook, B.C. passed away Dec. 14. 1992. He was born Mar. 25, 1898 to Gerhard and Justina Giesbrecht in Gretna, Man. In 1906 the family moved to Herbert, Sask. He married Mary Sawatsky Apr. 21, 1919. She was killed by lightning May 31, 1923, leaving children Thomas and Ruth.
In 1925 he married a girl (Lisa) l who had recently come from Russia and was working in the home of his sister and brother-in-law. 6 more children were born in Saskatchewan, but 2 died in infancy. In 1934 they moved to B.C. Two weeks later, 3-yearold Hulda died. Three more children were born in Yarrow, but 1 died in infancy.
They lived in Yarrow until 1980, when Lisa’s health failed and they moved to Tabor Home in Clearbrook. She died Mar. 12, 1982.
In October, 1985 he married Tabor resident Agneta Fedrau. They moved to an apartment but returned to Tabor in 1988, when his health failed. He longed to go home, especially after the death of daughter Selma May 22, 1991.
He is mourned by his third wife Agneta; sons Tom, Bert and Wally; daughters Ruth, Martha and Leona; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 1 brother.
The funeral was Dec. 17 in Yarrow MB Church, with Ron Braun ministering.
Burial was at Yarrow Cemetery.
