FROESE, Helen Margaret

Helen Margaret (Klassen) Froese

June 13, 1939 – December 2, 2019

Helen Froese was born in Yarrow, BC and lived most of her life on that side of the Fraser River. Together with her husband, Jack Froese, they moved to Agassiz in 2000. Helen died peacefully but unexpectedly at home on Dec 2, 2019.

Helen was the Matriarch of our family, sharing her wisdom and insight on life. We celebrated her 80th birthday in June and are so glad we did. Helen had a zest for life with a focus on family, community and church. Widowed in 2010, she is survived by daughters Debbie (Vern), Connie (Gobi), and Linda. She had 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Beyond that, she was Grandma, GGMa, and Auntie to a vast extended family.

She loved camping, fishing, traveling, and playing games. She was a Scrabble Master! Helen had a social life few could keep up with, with a commitment to church, volunteerism, fitness classes, concerts, crafting, and family and friends.

In her own words, “What can I say about my life – God has been good to me and ever present through all circumstances. I had good parents, a husband who loved me, children and grandchildren who have always been a joy. What more can one ask for?”
