Margarete Friesen

1921 - 1979

Margarete Friesen of 42115 Stewart Road, Yarrow, died November 13th 1979 at the Extended Care Unit at Chilliwack General Hospital. Funeral service was held in the chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home, Abbotsford with Mr. Jon Watts officiating. Burial was Musselwhite Cemetery.

Mrs. Friesen was born September 15, 1921 in Germany. She worked as a housewife and had lived in the Yarrow area for 28 years, her address was 42115 Stewart Road, Yarrow, B.C.

Margarete Friesen is survived by four daughters: Ulrike (Mrs. M.) Johnston of Yarrow; Lydia Friesen of Vancouver, Gabriella Friesen of Toronto, and Norma Friesen of Yarrow; three sons, Walter of Ottawa, Rudolph of Vancouver and Peter of Yarrow and one granddaughter.


Pallbearers were D. Giesbrecht, Cornelius Regehr, Jacob Barwich, Ernie Neufeld, Jacob Heilbron and Peter Wiens.

Her husband was Heinrich Friesen, the violin maker of Yarrow, who died November 23, 1976 at Chilliwack General Hospital. He was 84.

Burials for both Heinrich and Margarete Friesen were at Musselwhite Cemetery.
