Peter H. Fast

Peter H. Fast, a retired farmer died August 20th, 1964 at his home, 4076 Eckert Road, Yarrow, B.C. He was born on July 7th, 1899 in Russia.

He was married to Helena Klassen in Russia. They moved in Yarrow in 1937, after coming to Canada in 1926 from Russia.

He had lived in Yarrow for 27 years and had retired from farming in 1922.

Surviving Peter Fast are his wife Helen; seven daughters: Mrs. John (Elizabeth) Enns, Abbotsford, B.C.; Mrs. Isaac (Tina) Ewert, Chilliwack, B.C.; Mrs. Abe (Lena) Epp, Vancouver, B.C.; Mrs. John (Selma) Ratzlaff, Yarrow, B.C.; Mrs. Edwin (Mary) Krause, Abbotsford, B.C.; Mrs. Brian (Ann) Smith, Vancouver, B.C.; Mrs. Dave (Frieda) Hakes, Ontario; two sons: Peter at Richmond, B.C. and Vic at home; 20 grandchildren, two sisters in Russia and a brother in Ontario.

Funeral services were conducted August 24th at the Mennonite Brethren Church, Yarrow by Rev. Henry Brucks and Rev. John Wiebe with interment in Yarrow Cemetery. Pallbearers were Isaac Ewert, Brian Smith, Edwin Krause, John Ratzlaff, Abe Epp and Peter Fast.

Helena Klassen Fast was born in 1902 in Russia and passed away July 14, 1966.

Both Peter and Helena Fast are buried at the Yarrow Cemetery.
