
George G. Fast 1898 – 1986
George G. Fast of Richmond B.C. passed away July 4, 1986 in Richmond Care Home.
He was born in Kuban, Russia on July 18, 1898.
He accepted Christ, was baptized and joined the MB Church. He married Mary Wiebe and moved with the Wiebe family to Mexico.
After one and a half years in Mexico, they went by train to Winnipeg. In 1912 they moved to Agassiz BC and later to Yarrow B.C.
After Mary passed away, George married Helen Siemens of Winnipeg on February 16, 1947 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.. He had two silver wedding anniversaries
first with Maria and another silver wedding with Helen.
George was well like and best known as “Checker” at the Canadian Hop Yards. When he was 84, his second wife, Helen passed away suddenly on April 28, 1983
after 36 years of marriage.
George passed away on July 4, 1986. He is survived by his daughters: Annie Flyman, Mary Martens, Kay Balzer, Martha Toews, Irma Fast and Betty Penner; sons Ben,
David, George and John; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was in Fraserview M.B. Church in Richmond, B.C. with Al Mc Vety ministering.
