EPP, Gertrude Rempel


Gertrude Rempel Epp

1890-1973

Gertrude Epp (nee Rempel) was born September 29,1890 in Crimea, South Russia. She was married to Henry Epp in 1913. They were both baptized on their faith and joined the MB church in Russia.

In 1926, the Epp family moved to Canada.

Her husband Henry died in 1932 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Gertrude remained a widow for 41 years.

She was a member of the MB Church in Yarrow. In 1967 she moved to the Tabor Home in Clearbrook, and died in the M.S.A. hospital on March 18, 1973 at 1 pm at the age of 83.

She is survived by 6 sons Dave, Dick, Abe, Henry, George and Bruno; 2 daughters Frieda and Ella; 2 sisters, 2 brothers, 24 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren,

The funeral service was held in Yarrow on March 20, 1973 with J. Klassen and P. D. Loewen officiating. Interment was at Yarrow Cemetery



Heinrich Epp

Heinrich Epp was born in Russia on October 6, 1886.

He married Gertrude “Truda” Rempel; they had 7 children.

He passed away on February 17th 1932 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
