DYCK, Jacob Frank passed away very peacefully with his family at his bedside on February 9, 2005 at Richmond General Hospital, at the age of 81 years.
Jake was predeceased by his parents, Jacob & Eva Dyck; one brother, and son-in-law Alf Klassen.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife Lydia; children Karen Klassen, Del (Carol) Dyck, and Doreen (Carl) Hintz; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother; two sisters.
Born on November 4, 1923 in Alexandertahl, Russia, Jake immigrated to Saskatchewan in 1926. His family moved to Yarrow, BC in 1937.
He married Lydia Suderman in 1950 and made their home in Vancouver until their move to Richmond in 1987. Jake was employed at the T.E. Eaton Co. for 34 years before retirement in 1983.
Jake and Lydia's five-week road trip to Alaska with his brother and sister-in-law was a special memory, along with baseball games at Nat Bailey Stadium.
He will be remembered for his love for God, integrity, patience, faithfulness and dedication to his family whom he prayed for daily.
A Celebration of Life Service was held on Monday, February 14 at 2:30 p.m. at Fraserview Church, 11295 Mellis Drive, Richmond, officiated by Pastor Dan Unrau.
