Margaret Giesbrecht Derksen passed away March 12th, 1992 at Chilliwack B.C. She was born April 16th,
1906 to Peter & Elizabeth Giesbrecht in Terek, Russia. The family moved to Wohldemfuerst, Kuban.
She received Christ and was baptized. Her favourite verses were Matthew 11:28 and Psalm 23 and 103. She loved to sing in the choir, loved people and enjoyed sewing.
In 1924 they immigrated to Canada via Mexico and the US. They lived in Nelson, BC in 1928.
In 1930 she went to work for the Ord family, who owned the Canadian Hop Yards, managing their estate.
She married Henry Derksen January 3, 1937. They had fruit trees, berries and a trucking.
In 1953 they moved to her parents' homestead, continuing with berries and trucking. They retired to next door to the smaller home Henry built.
Margaret was a volunteer for the Red Cross and Chilliwack Hospital Auxiliary. She loved her sewing circle and started with friends. She loved entertaining,
baking and knitting Afghans for her children and grandchildren. In 1989 they moved to Chilliwack.
She is mourned by her husband Henry, daughters Viola Unger, Betty Bratt, and Leona Peters; son Harry, 4 sisters and 3 brothers.
