Henry Jacob Derksen passed away April 15th 1994. He was born November 30, 1908 in Terek Russia. He immigrated to Canada in 1930 and found work on a farm in Watrous, Saskatchewan.
He accepted the Lord at the church there and was baptized, sang in the choir and was happy. In March 1935 he moved to BC and began working in his brother's general store.
He married Margaret Giesbrecht on January 3, 1937. They lived in Yarrow BC until 1989.
During retirement he enjoyed singing in the German choir in the Yarrow MB Church, visiting with their children and taking short trips. A trip to Russia to visit relatives in 1975 was
probably the highlight of his life.
They moved to Chilliwack in 1989. Margaret died March 12, 1992. He moved to Grosvenor House and then to the Tabor Home in Clearbrook, BC.
He is mourned by his children Viola, Betty, Leona and Harry; 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
