DAHL, Ervin

A well-known area resident Ervin Dahl passed away on November 4th 1982 at Chilliwack General Hospital.

He was born in Chilliwack February 24, 1931 to John & Anna Dahl, the eldest of 6 children. He accepted Christ as his Saviour, was baptized and received into the Yarrow MB Church. He married Anne Unger on March 25, 1951 and began a career as a teacher which lasted 33 years. Two sons: Robert and Gerald; and three daughters: Janet, Elaine and Marjorie were bone to them.

He lived in this area most of his life, spending 26 years in Hope. He was a teacher in Hope Secondary School.

Mr. Dahl had many accomplishments during his life. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church where he was a deacon, Sunday school superintendent and teacher, curator of the Hope Museum, author of "A Brief History of Hope," a member of the Centennial Committee of Hope, administrative assistant of Hope Secondary School, advisor and school newspaper editor.

He is survived by his wife Anne, two sons: Robert of Regina and Gerald at home; three daughters: Janet (David) Isaac, Clearbrook; Elaine Dahl, Hope; Marjorie (Inacio) Teodora da Silva, Abbotsford; a grandson; his parents: John & Anna Dahl; four brothers: John of MacKenzie, BC; David of Langley; Leslie of Oliver; Dennis of New Westminster; a sister: Ann (Jim) Miller of Prince George; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall, Hope, BC with Matt Dressler officiating, assisted by Robert Dahl. Pall bearers were David Dahl, Robert Dahl, Gerald Dahl, John Dahl, Leslie Dahl, Dennis Dahl, Inacio Teodoro da Silva and David Isaac.
