DAHL, Anna

Anna Dahl died May 22, 2010. She was born Nov. 12, 1013 in Alexandradar, Russia to Johann and Karoline (Schmidt) Kroeker.

They immigrated to Canada in 1925, settling in Steinbach, Man. After Grade 8, Anna worked winters in Winnipeg and summers on local farms. She accepted Christ and was baptized Aug. 25, 1928 in Winnipeg. After the family moved to Yarrow, B.C., she did housekeeping in Vancouver.

Anna married Frank Dahl Jan. 12, 1936. They settled first in Yarrow, then on a dairy farm. They moved back to Yarrow in the early 1950s to establish a feed business and run a gas station.

In 1973, they sold the business and returned to dairying. In 1988, Anna and Frank moved to Abbotsford, B.C. and joined Clearbrook MB Church, where they sang in the German choir.

After Frank's death Jan. 25, 1996, Anna continued to volunteer in the church and community. She broke her arm and hip May 15, 2010 and, following surgery, never recovered her strength.

Anna's family will remember her quiet manner, strong principles, and commitment to family.

Predeceased by Frank, son Frank, daughter Carol Wolfe, grandsons Glen and Christopher, 1 great-grandson, 5 brothers, 2 sisters; Anna is mourned by children Waldo (Anne), Linda Allert, Alvin (Ruby), Edith (Heinz) Ratzlaff, Rudy (Claire), Leonard, Gary (Dawn); son-in-law Peter Wolfe; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters.
