William Clifford Chadsey

1907 – 14 Oct 1962

Born in Yarrow in 1907, William Clifford Chadsey, known as W.C. Chadsey; passed away October 14, 1962 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Marylin Marshall, 5285 Vedder Road.

He had resided at 13 Alexander Avenue, Chilliwack, B.C.


Mr. Chadsey is also survived by two grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. H.R. Zink, Sardis; two sisters: Mrs. Harold (Edna) Wilkins, Edmonton, AB., Mrs. Wilford (Lauretta) Nelson, Sardis; two brothers: Herbert, Mattawa, Washington and Harold, Sardis, B.C.

Pallbearers were Charles Steward, Gordon Toop, Roydon Zink, Norman Chadsey, Larry Nelson, and Raymond Chadsey.

Rev. Franck Patterson officiated at the funeral service at Henderson’s Funeral Chapel. Interment was in Canadian Legion Cemetery.

Yarrow Postmaster:
1900 William Chadsey opens the Majuba Hill Post Office in his home at the Majuba Hill and Robinson Road's intersection.
1902 William Chadsey is awarded a contract to haul mail, a distance of eight and one half miles, twice weekly between Majuba Hill and Sardis at a rate of $120 per year.
