Helen Braun (Fast)

1899 - 1989

Helen Braun of Clearbrook, B.C. passed away Apr. 22. 1989. She was born Sept. 27, 1899 in Alexanderfeld, Zagradovka, Russia.

In June, 1920 she married Peter H. Fast. They immigrated to Canada in 1926. They farmed near Beechy, Sask. for 12 difficult years. They moved to Yarrow, B.C., where they enjoyed economic sufficiency, social well-being and spiritual refreshment. Peter passed away Aug. 20, 1964.

Three years later she married Frank Braun of St. Catharines, accepting his family as her own. They enjoyed good retirement years in Clearbrook. They moved to Sherwood Home.

Her last weeks were spent in Menno Home. The family remembers her as a loving, caring mother much concerned for the spiritual welfare of her children and grandchildren.

She is mourned by her husband Frank; children Elizabeth, Tina, Lena, Selma, Mary, Anne, Peter, Frieda and Victor; stepchildren Anne and Jake; 29 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and one sister. The funeral was Apr. 26 in Clearbrook MB Church, with J.E. Klassen and J. Pauls ministering.
