Funeral services were held in Yarrow Mennonite Brethren church for Jacob David Boschmann who passed away July 14, 1950 in his 81st year. He was born July 7, 1870 in Rosenort, Molotschna, South Russia to David & Katharina (Cornelsen) Boschmann.
Jacob married his first wife Anna Ediger on May 4, 1893 in Russia. He immigrated to Canada November 7, 1925 arriving on the S.S. Metagama in Quebec City.
Three children were born to them: Agatha, David and Nicholas. He was a member of the Lichtfelde Alliance Church in the Molotschna Colony. He was a blacksmith and a farmer in Russia.
He and Anna Ediger adopted 3 orphans: two girls named Katcha and Tina and one boy, Jakob Peters who died at age 18 of a lung disease. He and his wife left Russia on 5 Oct 1926 and arrived in Rosthern, Saskatchewan on 11 Nov 1926.
Anna passed away November 21, 1929 in Whitewater Manitoba.
Jacob married Anna Goossen on May 31st, 1931 in Whitewater, Manitoba. Jakob was a widower with 8 children when he married Anna Goossen. Anna Goossen passed away March 17, 1938 in Winkler, Manitoba.
He moved to British Columbia about 1938. He married Katherine Derksen on February 21, 1943 in Yarrow BC. (Katherine passed away December 20, 1963 in Abbotsford and is buried at the Yarrow Cemetery.)
Jacob died July 14, 1950 in Chilliwack BC. Rev. J.A. Harder officiated at the service which was followed by interment in Yarrow Cemetery. Besides his wife, Katherine, he leaves two sons: Nicholas at Yarrow; and David in Ontario; a daughter Mrs. A. Willms in Ontario and two stepdaughters in Manitoba.
