Anne Klassen Boschman of Clearbrook BC passed away June 10, 1986. She was born July 31, 1921 to Jacob & Katherine Klassen in Caucasia, Southeast Russia. Five years later, the family immigrated to Canada, spending the winter of 1926-27 in Dalmeny, Sask.
In spring 1927 they moved to Watrous, Sask. She was fond of singing, games and sports. The family were known for their harmonious singing while riding to church in a buggy. She accepted Jesus during a radio broadcast of Willis Brooks from Regina and was baptized and accepted into Watrous MB Church.
In 1941 the family moved to a farm near Yarrow BC. She joined the Yarrow MB Church choir where she met Rudy Boschman. The themes for their marriage August 22, 1943 were
"Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever" and "when they looked up, they saw Jesus only". Their union was blessed with two sons and two daughters. She cared and fervently prayed for the children while Rudy was involved in youth work and music ministry for the next two decades.
Studies and ministries resulted in moves from Yarrow to Arnold BC to Vancouver to Winnipeg to Yarrow to Vancouver to Linden, Alta to Clearbrook.
This spring (1986), shortly after they decided to leave the senior pastorate of Central Heights MB Church in Abbotsford to accept the position of BC conference minister, a malignant tumour was discovered in her brain.
During the next three months, her intense faith and fervent love for God radiated from her personality.
Predeceased by her parents, one sister and one brother, she is mourned by her husband Rudy, sons: Ed of Bakersfield, California; and Merv of Clearbrook; daughters: Vange Falk of Abbotsford; and Viv Johnstone of Clearbrook; six grandchildren, three sisters and one brother.
The funeral was June 13, 1986 at Central Heights MB Church with Henry Wiebe, William A. Wiebe and John Schmidt ministering.
