
John Borowski
John Borowski of Abbotsford, B.C. passed away February 9th 1989. He was born September 10, 1904 in Feodorovka, Southern Russia to John & Christina Borowski. When he was 16, his father died. The family continued to work on the farm.
In October, 1930, he married Lydia Wall.
In 1936, they immigrated to Germany. In October 1940, John was drafted into the German army. For the next eight years he was separated from his family, the last four years of which, he was a POW (Prisoner of War) in Poland. He was finally released in 1948 and reunited with his wife and children. Upon his release he went to work in the German coal mines.
In 1949, the Borowski family immigrated to Canada and settled in Yarrow, B.C. on a farm on Eckert Road. For the next 25 years, they worked on the farm.

In 1962, he accepted Christ and was baptized by pastor Hermann Lenzmann and accepted into the Yarrow MB Church.
In 1974, the Borowskis retired to Clearbrook and joined the Clearbrook MB Church. In 1984, they moved into a condominium in Evergreen Village. Although John’s hearing had become poor, he faithfully attended church.
John was predeceased by his son Johnny in infancy, he is mourned by his wife Lydia; sons Woldemar, Nick and Bill and two grandchildren.
The funeral for John Borowski was February 15, 1989 at Clearbrook M.B. Church with pastor Jacob Pauls and David Friesen ministering.

John George Borowski, infant son of Mr. & Mrs. John Borowski was born March 12th and died March 13th at Chilliwack Hospital. The baby is survived by his parents and three brothers: Waldemar, Nick and Willie.
Following a shot service at the parents’ home, a graveside service was held at Yarrow Cemetery with Rev. Isaac Toews officiating. Waldemar and Nick Borowski, older brothers were pallbearers.
Chilliwack Funeral Home was in charge.
