In 1944, she married Alfred Hamm, settling in Chilliwack. There they established a home and raised six children. Mary was active in the Central Community Church, volunteering in a variety of services. She was an excellent homemaker, a wonderful cook, and an avid gardener. And for many years she worked for Chilliwack Community Services as a home aide.
