Frank F. Kornelsen, of 4633 Dyke Road Yarrow, a resident of the Yarrow community for 41 years, died September 29th 1970 in Chilliwack General Hospital. Rev. H. G. Thielman, assisted by Rev. Dave Friesen, officiated at the funeral service at the Yarrow Mennonite Brethren Church.

Interment was in Yarrow Cemetery. Pallbearers were Peter Kornelsen, John Kornelsen, Abe Kornelsen, Jake Nikkel, John Dyck and Jake Klassen.

Frank F. Kornelsen was born in Kaltan, Neu Samara, Russia on July 16, 1897 to Franz A. & Helena (Wiebe) Kornelsen. Frank immigrated to Canada in 1929 with his parents and siblings arriving on Nov 20 1924 at Rosthern, SK. His mother had died when he was very young. Frank moved to Yarrow, BC in 1928.He was baptized and was a member of the Yarrow MB Church. He was a stationary engineer.

Frank married Tina Nikkel on July 28, 1929 in Yarrow BC. Seven children were born to them: Abe, Katie, John, Peter, Bertha, Vic and Lynda.

He is survived by his wife Tina; three daughters: Katie (John) Fast, Sardis; Bertha (R.) Atkins, Vancouver; Lynda (Nick) Spenst, Delta BC; four sons: John, Vedder Crossing; Abraham (Abe), Yarrow; Peter, Kamloops; and Victor, Vancouver; 18 grandchildren, one great-grandson; three brothers, seven sisters and his step-mother, Mrs. Bertha Kornelsen, Abbotsford. , donations can be made to the Gideon Bible Society or any charitable organization of their choice.
