Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 2pm from Yarrow Mennonite Brethren Church for Mrs. Elizabeth Epp who passed away in Chilliwack Hospital last Tuesday May 2, 1949. Rev. A. Nightingale officiated and internment was in Yarrow Cemetery.
Pallbearers were George Epp, Isaac Epp, Jacob Epp, Henry Dahl and Isaac Schmidt.
The late Mrs. Epp and her husband, the late Jacob G. Epp who died two months ago, were among the earliest Mennonite residents of Yarrow coming here in 1928. They came to Canada in 1926. Mrs. Epp, who was in her 62nd year, was born in Russia. Her home was at 1018 Eckert Road.
She is survived by four sons, George, Isaac, Jacob and Peter, all of Yarrow; five daughters, Mrs. Henry Dahl, Sumas Prairie, Mrs. I.C. Schmidt, Lulu Island; Miss Mary Epp and Miss Helen Epp, Vancouver and Miss Susie Epp at home. There are nineteen grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Jacob Dyck, and a brother Frank Petkau and nieces and nephews reside in Yarrow and another brother Wilhelm Petkau in Germany.
