BANMAN, Aganetha

Banman Aganetha (Ajanetha) (nee Fast)

Mrs. Ajanetha (Fast) Banman was born on December 7, 1890 in Linndeltal, Russia. She married Heinrich Franz Banman on February 7, 1912 in Russia. They immigrated to Mexico in 1925, to Lawson, Saskatchewan, Canada in 1926. She was baptized in 1929 at Lawson Saskatchewan. They moved to B.C. in 1937. They had seven children, two died in childhood, 4 sons and 1 daughter survived.

She had lived in the Chilliwack area for 34 years and was a member of the Yarrow Mennonite Brethren Church. She passed away August 2, 1971 in the Chilliwack General Hospital. She is survived by four sons: Bill and Frank in Yarrow; Henry, Kaslo, BC; John, North Vancouver; one daughter: Agnes (Mrs. John) Letkeman, Calgary AB; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three sisters: Mrs. Anna Cornies, Leamington, Ontario; Mrs. Mary Balzer and Mrs. Helen Goerzen of Russia. Her husband Henry died in 1961.

Rev. John F. Klassen assisted by Rev. H.G. Thielmann, officiated at the funeral service for Mrs. Ajanetha Banman, 42020 Central Road Yarrow. Pallbearers were John Borowski, Cornelius Neufeld, Henry Spenst, John Isaak, George Sawatsky and George Wall. Burial was at Yarrow Cemetery. Henderson's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
